View Detailed Map

APA has entered into a Gas Transportation Agreement (GTA) with Power and Water Corporation (PWC) to transport treated natural gas from the Eni Australia Pty Ltd (Eni) Blacktip Gas Plant in the Northern Territory, to connect to the existing Amadeus Basin to Darwin Gas Pipeline (ADP). PWC has negotiated an agreement with Eni to source replacement gas supplies for existing power generation assets in the Northern Territory. Gas supply is required in Darwin by 1 January 2009.

APA proposes to construct the Bonaparte Gas Pipeline (BGP) a high pressure gas transmission pipeline from near Wadeye to Ban Ban Springs Station, a distance of approximately 280km. The BGP, which will initially be capable of delivering 30PJ/year, will consist of a buried 300mm (12”) class 900, high tensile steel pipe located in a 30m wide corridor. The pipeline will have an initial design life of 50 years.
